Synodality: A Tender and Hearty Shoot of Green
The official four-year cycle for the Synod on Communion, Mission and Participation (a.k.a. the Synod on Synodality) has drawn to a close. The delegates published their final report, which some felt was a disappointment, some a disgrace. In contrast, Bernadette Rudolph, a synodal animator, thinks synodality is a healthy seedling that can renew the Church and heal the divisions that rankle the heart of the Church and of the world.
During this online evening of information, discussion and hope, Bernadette and Haylie Doan, a LaSalle University student who also went to Rome for the October 2024 General Assembly, will talk about their trip and share what excites them about the possibilities for synodality. Bernadette will also share some key ideas from the final report, which Pope Francis published as his official teaching on synodality. We will also dream together about how to weave synodality into our hopes for the future. The implementation phase belongs to everyone!
