Cranaleith Legacy Society
Planned giving is one way to strategize for the future, manage your affairs, and make a lasting gift to Cranaleith.
Whether you wish to put your donation to work today or to benefit us after your lifetime, you can find a charitable plan that allows you to provide for your family and support Cranaleith at the same time.
The Cranaleith Legacy Society was established to honor individuals who have made such a commitment through estate gifts, life-income gifts, or the transfer of assets.
We invite you to become a part of this select group of individuals and ensure the mission of Cranaleith continues for generations to come. Membership in the Cranaleith Legacy Society not only secures Cranaleith’s future, but also includes:
- Recognition on the Cranaleith Legacy Society ‘Wall of Mercy’
- Invitation to the annual Cranaleith Legacy Society Luncheon
- Discounts on attending programs and retreats at Cranaleith
- A free jar of our famed “Cranaleith Honey” each year.

Below are some of the most common types of planned gifts. Please contact your own financial and/or legal advisors before making a planned gift.
Planned Giving Options
Cash
Your gift of cash provides immediate tax savings for you through charitable deductions. Your gift will provide Cranaleith a source of income for mission initiatives, and you can designate how your cash gift is used at Cranaleith for what you believe is most important. You can also designate your cash gift be added to Cranaleith’s investment funds, allowing Cranaleith to grow the gift over time and spend only the interest (similar to giving to an endowment).
Named Funds (Cash)
Named funds can recognize a deceased loved one, family member, friend, or anyone you wish to honor. They are lasting tributes, and their names and legacies will live on at Cranaleith Spiritual Center. A named fund can be added to at any time by anyone interested in supporting its designated purpose.
Will
The purpose of having a will is to distribute your property to whomever you wish at the time of your death. It is the legal way to provide for your heirs, and the causes and organizations that you care about. A bequest is a simple directive that is included or added to your will. You can include Cranaleith Spiritual Center in your will either by using a fractional share (percent of the estate, or percent of the remainder of the estate) or a certain sum ($ amount specified).
Charitable Gift Annuity
A Charitable Gift Annuity is a simple contract between you and Cranaleith Spiritual Center. It is a way for you to make a gift to Cranaleith, and in return receive a specified lifetime income. You can secure steady quarterly payments for yourself or others while providing Cranaleith with the means necessary to continue its important work. The gift can be established with cash, securities, or property, and the assets of the institution back our ability to pay you for life. In addition, when you fund a gift annuity, you are eligible for a significant charitable deduction for the amount that Cranaleith is expected to receive in the future.
Charitable Remainder Trust
A Charitable Remainder Trust provides income for yourself while making a gift to Cranaleith. You establish the trust during your lifetime, receive a charitable tax deduction, and the remaining amount goes to Cranaleith at the time of your death.
Charitable Lead Trust
With a Charitable Lead Trust, Cranaleith benefits immediately, and you and your beneficiaries receive the remainder of the trust’s assets.
Life Insurance
Life insurance is a low-cost method of providing for Cranaleith’s future. A life insurance policy that names Cranaleith as the beneficiary can have a major impact.
Personal Property
You can make a gift of valuable artwork, jewelry, classic cars, equipment, or other items of value to Cranaleith, who can then decide how to utilize the gift for maximum impact.
Real Estate
You can offer real estate as an immediate gift or to fund a trust. For examples, you can decide to remain in your home after making your gift, thereby gaining a tax deduction and eliminating local taxes while still enjoying the comforts of home. Equally, undeveloped property can be gifted to Cranaleith.
