The Spirituality of Children: Day of Reflection for Parents, Grandparents, and Caregivers of Children

Anne Heath, RSM

May 7, 2025

“Spiritual identity means we are not what we do or what people say about us.  And we are not what we have.  We are the beloved daughters and sons of God.”  Henri Nouwen

Are you a parent, grandparent, or caregiver of children?  Have you ever wondered how children express their spirituality or relate to God?

Join Anne Heath, RSM, as she brings her teaching and counseling experience with children into dialogue with this question.  This program will address children’s growth and development as spiritual beings and give you time to ponder the meaning of children’s spirituality.  Using stories and other mediums, the session will provide opportunities to share, to pray and to understand, as much as possible, the mind of a young child as they come to understand their own self as a spiritual being.  There will be time for quiet reflection, followed by discussion.  Resources will also be available.

We invite you to bring your children to this session.  Staff at Cranaleith will provide activities to engage them during the program time.  Before lunch, the children will join the program for an activity.  Everyone will enjoy lunch together.  If you are bringing a child, please register them.
