Anne Heath, RSM

Anne Heath, RSM is a Sister of Mercy and a native of Philadelphia, who ministered mainly in the south for almost 40 years. In her early years she was an elementary school teacher and then she felt called to parish life as a pastoral minister and a religious educator. However, she realized that in both parish and school ministry, there is a need for both clinical and pastoral presence so she obtained her Master of Social Work to complete her ministerial profession. Anne holds a Masters in Pastoral Counseling from Fairfield University, CT and a Master of Social Work from The Catholic University of America, DC.

Anne has served in many capacities during her ministry service: school counselor, homeless outreach, AIDS ministry, death row visitor, and countless trainings and retreats throughout the Diocese of Raleigh.

While serving in these various capacities, Anne became a foster parent to newborns awaiting adoption, brought her dog, Gizmo, to the local state mental hospital to do pet therapy, volunteered as a matchmaker with the SPCA, and volunteered with the Red Cross in Disaster Mental Health.

Anne looks forward to finding her next adventure and spending quality time with family, friends and 4 legged companions. Since moving back to PA from NC in July 2022, Anne is adjusting to life in the north and she, along with her dog, Gidget, visit the infirmed sisters at McAuley Covent monthly. She also volunteers with the Funeral Planning Committee to assist families and sisters a when a sister dies.
