Volunteers, Lou Paul, Mike Ciccotti and Fred Trainer just couldn’t come to terms with “it’s time to junk her.” This was in reference to our suspension rusted out, no chance to pass an inspection, the engine blowing white hen blue smoke (on good days), gas tank ready to drop off…Ford 150. Maybe a guy thing for pick-up trucks, who knows, but this is a story of recovery, and seems to ever so nicely fit into the zeitgeist of Cranaleith, which is, after all, all about the mystery of transformation – right?
We’re talking two chapters to this story in all… so Chapter 1… on most weekends, we find Lou working his mechanical wizardry. With time running out and against all odds, Lou breaks through bringing “it” back from the dead, and in so doing, keeps hope alive.
Chapter 2 …saw Mike and Fred become believers. They jumped on the bandwagon helping Lou rehab the suspension, or what was left of it, then build on a foundation deck with lift off walls, which effectively transformed this sad junker into an around the ground’s dependable workhorse!
