Retreatant Pens Poem

A tree is in the middle of a road

Georgina Dietz, a regular retreatant at Cranaleith, recently shared a poem with us that she composed during a retreat in March 2022. Published here with her permission. Thank you, Georgina!

Retreat and Renewal

By Georgina Dietz

I hear the honking of the geese
And the sweet sound of rustling trees

With the hum of city sounds
Encompassing and confirming
The flow of life.

I am here.
Now.
In the shelter of trees.

Craneleith is
Welcoming me
Again.

A sacred space
In a troubled city
Where stories of mercy are shared,
And cries for justice blend
With the caw of the crow.

I am here.
Present.
Silent.
And open.
Listening.
Learning.

Finding hope
and sustenance
for the
journey ahead.
