There Has to Be a Better Way: A Conversation about Polarity

Brenna McGinnis and Danny L. Thomas

June 18, 2026

In these deeply divisive times, many of us feel the tension in our relationships, our communities, our daily lives. But what would it look like to actually talk across that divide? Not to debate. Not to persuade. Not to win. Just to be human with each other.
This evening is an invitation to something radical: a shared conversation about polarity itself. The moments when division broke your heart, when it surprised you, when it was somehow bridged. It is a space for honest, personal storytelling, rooted in respect, curiosity, and a better understanding of our shared humanity.  Bringing a range of lived experiences and viewpoints, participants will explore together the complexity of polarization, how it shows up and the choices we have to create a healthier community
If we want to heal our divisions, we need to first understand division itself.
