June 1st – St. Christopher Boy Scout Troop 367

July 14, 2025

On June 1st, we were so happy to welcome back our friends from St. Christopher’s Boy Scout Troop 367. In November 2024, they were such a tremendous help in carrying over all the items for the Holiday Pop-In Sale (and there was a lot!) from the basement of the house to the Conference Center. We couldn’t have done it without their manpower!

This time though, they were on a mission to help their fellow scout member, Shane Bender, complete his Eagle Scout Project. Shane and his parents spent a lot of time discussing with Fred Trainer just what would be a meaningful endeavor for Shane to plan, and what the group could accomplish on the grounds of Cranaleith. It didn’t take long to figure out what was needed.

Early that Sunday morning, the scouts and parents arrived at Cranaleith ready for action. Their goal was three-fold:

  • Sand and stain the posts of the Stations of the Cross
  • Remove all the mud from the brick gutters and drains along the bottom driveway, which borders the Stations area
  • Trim all the bushes and rake out all the leaves and debris along the driveway

Shane explained the plan for the day and organized the troop into groups. Everyone pitched in – scouts, scoutmasters, parents and even little brothers! By 1:30, the job was completed, and it looked like a different place as you’ll see in the pictures below.

Many thanks to Shane, his parents, Rita and Walt and all the hardworking and big-hearted members of St. Christoher’s Boy Scout Troop 367.
