Leslie Porreca, RSM is a member of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas. She has been called to minister as a clinical social work therapist, artist, garden-farmer and environmental advocate. She is head of Cranaleith’s Contemplative Ecology initiatives. Contemplative Ecology strives to integrate our deepest spiritual yearnings with our personal and communal commitment to protect the Earth through sustainable and mindful living.
Leslie has been farming and gardening for over thirty years. Before coming to Cranaleith, she had the experience of reclaiming a sheep farm in Vermont and returning it to a functional organic farm. By networking with other farmers, Leslie help found a coalition with a food bank that served the local community.
As head of Contemplative Ecology at Cranaleith, Leslie leads eco-spirituality, art and spirituality, gardening, and cooking retreats and programs. Using her many talents, she brings together organic gardening, cooking, and healthy eating with helping people cultivate their souls as they care about others and Earth. Leslie holds a bachelor’s degree from Immaculata University and an MSS, LCSW degree from Bryn Mawr College. She is also a talented photographer and her works are on sale in Cranaleith’s Gift Shop.
